Lake Clark Journals

While organizing material for the website redesign, I found some old journal entries from a volunteer job I took staffing backcountry cabins for the Park Service in Lake Clark National Park. For those who haven't been to Lake Clark, it is one of the most remote units in the National Parks system. Most areas in the park are accessible only by plane, either a float plane in the interior, or a wheeled plane capable of landing on the beaches in the coastal areas. The journals are light entries—nothing in them is intended to be profound and they reflect a giddiness at being alone in one of the most spectacular places in the country. I've added them at the appropriate dates back in 2006. You can find them in the 2006 notes archives or by click here: Lake Clark Journals.
